Much has been missed
I have neglected, since the first day of September, to include in this journal many an important detail of my life. Sometimes the shit just gets too heavy, and I think to be honest I would rather have it go unread. To be self-involved for a moment, it all meant a lot to me. I expanded, I imploded, I overdramatized, it will all live in my head forever, and ever, amen, and I am probably better for it. But when things pile up, I become overwhelmed and don't know where to start writing about them. So I am going to clear it up, and just start again from here.

Though an interesting and unmentioned point is that I have had pink hair since early fall and I don't ever want to go back.

My 26th birthday is this Sunday, and two days after that I am leaving for a vacation to Arizona to visit my Grandpa and witness the apparent wonder that is Sedona [so I am told by the travel catalog...] Christy is gracious enough to look after Lucky, and I am having a birthday party the weekend after I come back home. [April 19th if you care to show up.]

This past weekend was chock full of ooze. I spent 3 hours in my car on Friday afternoon trying to get from my job in Marengo to Greg's apartment...in Chicago. I rue the day I ever again sit in traffic for 2 hours going 10 mph stop go stop go stop go stop go stop go stop go stop go stop go while being really hungry and having to pee.

But the purpose of our visit [besides visiting the forlorn and grad-school-rejected Greg Bailey] was to go to the Second City and watch a show, and drink beer, and go dancing at supergay bars named after divided German cities [the people there smell! {bar, not city. well, maybe both.}] The show was great, these people are seriously brilliant. Though at one point I was singled out when a girl on stage said 'and you, miss, what's your favorite hobby?' well, I'm not good at on the spot answers, so I mumbled out "I..like...ponies".

and I quote "SO. The answer to 'what's your favorite hobby' is 'I like ponies'. Oh...kay." and she later used it in a skit and said she was from Ponytopia. Weee!
We played Wii, drank boxed sangria, got train station burritos and probably some other stuff that I am forgetting. Actually, I think this all happened the weekend before last. Where is my mind?

Well, whatever, it's late. Work is good. Weird sometimes, because the girl whom I replaced has come back to work for us again, but in a different capacity. She's merging duties with my boss so to speak, and she's number two of people that like to obsessively talk about their little children. [and while these are nice, good people, sometimes I wish there were someone a little more like me at work, because I get bored listening to these subjects.]

um?

There seems to be a lull in brain activity. I need to read more books. Pick up my banjo again. Meditate more.

Oh, I have been in a choir since February. It is a tiny church choir, and while I have never been very church oriented, these people are great so I have been sticking with it and enjoying my time singing. The 'math' of music is finally making sense to me.

Now we will dance the happy dance of Friday and sleep like kings!

Your hair is awesome!

Sedona is gorgeous. Just stay away from the crazy crystal people. I actually found a huge hunk of crystal on a hike in Sedona and am convinced it was planted there by a meditator or something... but I kept it anyway and will probably be cursed. Oh well.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your response "I like ponies..." When it comes to me, that's all I need to use as a response, anyway.

Ah cool! I grew up in Carol Stream, if you know where that is. It's in DuPage. There are lots of abandoned farm houses out by me if you want to meet up when it's a little warmer out that could be fun.
